If you want a material that lasts for years and develops a beautiful patina over time, real leather is unmatched. At Leather Art Creation, we work with different types of genuine leather, each offering its own level of quality and durability. Here are the main categories:

Full Grain Leather

Full grain is the highest and purest grade of leather. It comes from the top layer of the hide and is not sanded, buffed, or treated with harsh chemicals. This means the natural texture and markings of the animal remain visible—signs of true authenticity. Because the grain is intact, full grain leather is the strongest, most durable, and longest-lasting type available.

Top Grain Leather

Top grain is the second-highest quality and is commonly used in premium leather bags. It is made from the top layer of the hide but has imperfections removed through light sanding and finishing. While this process slightly reduces durability compared to full grain, it offers a smoother appearance and better stain resistance. It’s easier to work with and generally more affordable while still maintaining excellent quality.

Genuine Leather

Despite the name, “genuine leather” is actually a lower grade. It’s made from the layers left after the top portions of the hide are used for higher-end products. To improve appearance, artificial grain and dyes are often applied. Genuine leather is still durable, but not as strong or long-lasting as full grain or top grain. It is, however, the most budget-friendly option.
